Waistcoat - French & Indian

French and Indian War time period (1750) Waistcoats come down to just above the knees. The fronts are made from my Hand Spun/Hand woven Lindsey Woolsey material. The backs and lining are cut from 100% linen material. All stitches that can be seen are done by hand, including buttonholes, topstitching and eyelets. The outside shoulder seam is tapered down in the back to be period correct, but the inside seam is straight across the shoulders where we are used to feeling the seam. They have deep pockets on the front with flaps covering them. I also sew an inside pocket on the left side for the hidden objects that we need to carry.
